In an overall sense, the Holy Trinity of E46 M3 repairs were professionally completed - all three -
* The rod bearing replacement.
* The VANOS rebuild.
* The rear subframe reinforcement.
In addition, all fluids, all filters and all flush services were completed, including -
Coolant machine-flushed with BG Performance de-scaling agent and additive.
Engine oil flushed with BG Performance EPR sludge-removal / carbon cleaner.
Motul full synthetic oil and new filter with NG Performance MOA additive.
Clutch fluid machine-flushed.
Brake fluid machine-flushed to all four corners.
Transmission fluid drained and filled with Redline full synthetic.
Differential fluid drained and filled with Redline full synthetic.
Engine air filter changed.
Cabin air (pollen) filter changed.
Four brand new tires were installed and Group 2 performed a 4-wheel alignment..
The S54 engine has had a front subframe-down / sump-off replacement of the connecting rod bearings and connecting rod bolts. We utilized the Calico-coated aftermarket rod bearings developed by VAC Motorsports, as well as upgraded aftermarket rod bolts from ARP (ARP 2000 bolts.) This being a later production motor, it utilizes the smaller 10mm rod bolts.
With the sump and subframe down, the sump gasket was also replaced as part of that process and we replaced the engine mounts with OEM BMW mounts.
