With respect to the "Big 3" here is what I know. The prior owner I purchased it from was a mechanical engineer that has owned several e46 M3s. He replaced the rod bearings with the VAC Motorsports Rod Bearing Kit and ARP rod bolts at 93,879 miles. Since then it has had 2 Liqui-Moly 10w60 oil changes along with Redline transmission and diff fluid and BMW blue coolant change. It also has new front and rear tires and a new battery. I have no indication of subframe or vanos work.
This BMW e46 M3 presents as a car with many fewer miles than the 94k miles indicated. It is in all-original condition with no modifications. It is getting very difficult to find unmolested examples of what many believe is the all-time best BMW M3.
This car is in excellent condition, runs and drives excellent and needs nothing to be a great addition to anyone's collection of BMW M cars or with the mileage that it does show you can drive and enjoy it without the guilt or fear of destroying an expensive collectible icon.
The paint and body are in excellent condition with only a very small number of tiny rock chips. The interior is also in great condition with no excessive wear and tear. The black leather interior is supple and pliable with none of the typical dried out and cracking condition. This car has been cared for throughout its life and has likely spent very few days outdoors.
