This 1995 BMW M3 E36 Lightweight is part of a collection belonging to the late actor Paul Walker. Exact production numbers were never confirmed by BMW, but it’s widely accepted that between 120 and 126 E36 Lightweights were produced. Walker was an avid fan of BMW and kept a total of seven M3s in his collection five of them Lightweights.
This E36 M3 LTW is powered by a BMW S50 3.0-liter inline-6 engine factory-rated at 240hp and 225 ft/lbs of torque. The S50 is backed by a 5-speed manual transmission. It’s finished in Alpine White III with the tri-color checker M-motif on the left-front and right-rear corners, it also has a cloth and carbon-fiber-trimmed interior.
The 1995 Lightweight came from the factory an estimated 220 pounds lighter than the standard M3. Absent the radio, air conditioning, tool kit and sunroof. The Lightweight also featured integrated aluminum door skins, carpet that was featured only on the trunk floor, the underbody insulation was thinner and special carpeting was used; all in the name of lowering the car’s weight for racing. This M3 has just over 4,600 actual miles (the title reads mileage exempt). From The Paul Walker Collection.
