This 1988 BMW M3 was modified under previous ownership with a rebuild of the 2.3-liter S14 inline-four and the addition of aftermarket suspension components, and it was purchased by the seller on BaT in May 2018.
Subsequent work included the re-installation of the rear seats and the air conditioning and windshield washer systems, a rebuild of the ABS module, and the replacement of the carpeting, steering wheel, and rear interior trim.
Equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission, a limited-slip differential, 15” basketweave wheels, a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, front sport seats, an onboard computer, an AM/FM cassette stereo, and front and rear spoilers.
This E30 M3 is now offered with recent service records, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Lachsilber Metallic and is said to have been refinished under previous ownership. Features include a power-operated sunroof, fog lights, body-color mirror caps, twin exhaust finishers, wider fenders compared to the standard E30, and front and rear spoilers. An aftermarket front splitter was removed. Wear on the right rear window trim is shown up close in the gallery.
Basketweave 15″ wheels wear BMW center caps and are mounted with 205/55 Nitto NT450 tires. A matching spare wheel wearing a Uniroyal tire is stored in the trunk. The suspension is said to have been modified.
The 2.3-liter S14 inline-four is said to have been rebuilt by Mario Langsten at Vintage Sports and Racing of Bedford, New Hampshire, in 2003. An oil change was last performed in January 2022. The seller notes that the check engine light occasionally illuminates when the engine is cold.
